While small twisting and turning of the spine does not put a person at much risk, developing advanced scoliosis can lead to harmful effects.

(1) In an all fours position, arch your back up as much as possible and hold it for 5 seconds. Then slump down also as much as possible for 5 more seconds. Repeat at least 3 times. This stretch is great for mobilizing the entire spine. And is one of the most effective scoliosis exercises known to man.
(2) To stretch each of either side of the spine individually, reach upwards with one arm as much as you can, while reaching down with the other arm. Keep your knees apart.
